Abstract

In these pages, the author wants to analyse the primacy that freedom has had in Western society over other values of modernity. This emphasis on freedom has often led to various forms of homogenization and ignorance of individual differences. Education can contribute to the construction of a more egalitarian society, based on the appreciation of those differences.
