Abstract

This article synthesizes and rescues a series of learnings and experiences from an intervention program for the development of parental strategies for parents deprived of their liberty in Mexico City, which took place between 2018 and 2020. This work began with a diagnostic stage that included deprived of liberty (first offenders and recidivists), relatives of the inmates, prison directors and former inmates (non recidivists). With the information gathered and analyzed, strategies of the Triple P program were adapted and literature was reviewed that came from the focus on the person, the focus on positive parenting and on gender and new masculinities, in order to adapt a program that contemplated the reality of the parents deprived of liberty in the North Men's Penalty Execution Center. One month after the end of the workshop a second evaluation was applied in order to measure its impact.
