SARS-coV 2, the virus that causes the COVID-19, since its appearance in Wuhan, China in December 2019, has become the main challenge globally; at the same time, this health crisis revealed the fragility of the world’s health systems. on the other hand, the containment and prevention measures taken by states to counter the effects of the coronavirus (social distancing, restriction of freedom of movement and confinement) have brought all countries to a turning point in their economies and governance systems; especially those who had been facing serious complications in recent decades. In this context, international organizations play a fundamental role in their contributing and complementary role in the face of the national challenges of their member countries. This manuscript analyzes the measures implemented by Central American Integration System (SICA), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during the COVID-19 pandemic; establishing a brief historical description and a descriptive framework of their actions, analyzed in contrast to their competences and purposes for which they were created.
