Abstract

Women’s role in the context of inclusive social justice is one of the complex challenges faced by global agendas that seek to vindicate their existence on equal terms. This research, as a result of a documentary review with a qualitative approach, aimed to analyze the theoretical, conceptual, epistemic and practical contributions regarding the possibilities of women’s empowerment and their participation in public affairs, based on what is established in the capabilities approach. To this end, the discourse analysis of the references proposed by classical authors (original texts) was undertaken, as well as that proposed in recent complementary literature (specialized journals), assuming the following criteria: possibilities of dignity, opportunities for equitable inclusion, alternatives for human development, mechanisms for the protection of moral integrity and legal guarantees. The results indicate that promoting the multidimensional participation of women suggests the expansion of the mechanisms of action and insertion in the processes of permanent training and updating, as access to both political and social spaces from which to operate in their own dignity, as well as in the defense and enjoyment of the rights that assist them. It is concluded that, it is through the empowerment of individual capacities that it is possible to resize their effective performance and the exercise of substantial freedoms, determinants of human development to which the empowerment gives women the stability and plenitude that give rise to their realization is attributed.
