METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY OF HONDURAS EARNS ITS PLACE ON THE GLOBAL MAP OF ACADEMIC QUALITY WITH QS STARS

This article analyzes the results of the QS Stars 2025 evaluation conducted at the Universidad Metropolitana de Honduras (UMH), which was formally recognized during a ceremony held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 3, 2025. The study contextualizes the strategic significance of this certification within the post-pandemic landscape, in which internationalization, innovation, and academic quality have become core pillars of university competitiveness. The article outlines the categories assessed and highlights UMH’s most outstanding achievements, particularly in the teaching category, where it obtained the five-star rating. It also emphasizes the institutional leadership of Rector Rosario Duarte Galeas, who accepted the certificate on behalf of the university community. The article concludes with a reflection on the institution’s ongoing commitment and the steps required to strengthen its international positioning and advance toward higher levels of performance in future evaluations.
