Project-Based Learning and Problem-Based Learning to Strengthen Investigative Capacities in Professors and Students of the University School of Health Sciences

In the University School of Health Sciences (EUCS) of the National Autonomous University of Honduras in the Sula Valley (UNAH-VS) it is observed that the predominant pedagogical strategy is the magisterial conference, developing very few strategies that give a role active to the students and in this sense mentor teachers from the eucs proposed to carry out a pilot project on projectbased learning and problem-based learning as an innovative pedagogical strategy; five eucs teachers participated in this project with six student sections, three from Nursing,two from Medicine and one from Dentistry, for a total of 105 students; The project was executed in the second semester of 2019. The objective of the project was aimed at strengthening teaching and research skills required in all university professionals; carrying out a prediagnosis on the pedagogical strategies used, reflection meetings, monitoring of the academic process and assessment of the satisfaction and performance of the actors involved, in order to generate information to prepare a proposal for the institutionalization of project-based learning and learning based on problems (abp).The project was executed in five moments: reflection of the usual practice, reflection from the theory, reflection from the new practice, reflection from a transformed practice and the proposal to institutionalize the pbl.
It is concluded that the application of learning based on problems and projects, generated great satisfaction in teachers and students, strengthened teamwork, aroused research in-terest and social commitment.
