Abstract

A review of the autochthonous or traditional elements oral history of the indigenous peoples of Honduras, is the purpose of the completion of this work; behind the cultural practices of the both indigenous and Afro-descendant ethnic groups underlie those aspects that keep a chronological distance with that principle that refers us to its past, before the arrival of the invasion Spanish, in the case of the former and in the latter with the African continent. The Lenca and Garífuna people, despite evident syncretism in its culture, adorned by its customs, traditions, idiosyncrasy and worldview shows his affiliation with that past that was abruptly violated and after three centuries he tried to erase or forget.
