Abstract

The decade of the sixties in the twentieth century, for the National Autonomous University of Honduras was a period of growth in its infrastructure, opening of careers, regionalization of higher education and creation of new academic, scientific, cultural and linkage programs with society. Irma Leticia de Oyuela, considered the first director of the Department of University Extension, marked a paradigm shift at the time of what Honduras knew as university extension and made possible national extension work with the accompaniment of great exponents of theater, music, painting, poetry, and the academy of the time.
