This article addresses the management of rural community tourism as an alternative way to contribute to community development in the Lenca indigenous municipality of San Francisco de Opalaca, Intibucá. Likewise, a study is carried out, which consists of collecting information on the tourist offer for a subsequent diagnosis of tourist resources belonging to the region. As a methodology used, an inventory was made with research files to determine the resources that the municipality can offer its visitors, in the same way, a multidimensional analysis to diagnose the tourist situation of the municipality, identifying opportunities framed in the practice of sustainable tourism and the benefits it includes in different modalities.
