Extension periodical academic journals Latin American university students are doing important contributions to the processes of hierarchy of this university function. constitute relevant spaces to make the debates visible on the theoretical, epistemological, methodological definitions and, especially, the policies that guide certain types of university social practices. They are essential to question the ways in which that knowledge is constructed, circulated, appropriated and validated academic. The objective of this article is account for the opportunities and challenges that presents the Extension Magazine Publishers Network (REDREU) from the Association of Universities of the Montevideo Group (AUGM) that brings together 37 periodicals from 10 countries. challenges and opportunities related to consolidation from the publishing field, to the promotion of university debate and the deepening of the processes of internationalization of university extension.
