This essay is inspired by the painting exhibition of the artist Cruz Bermudez that he has made in homage to different personalities of history to whom he has always professed admiration. Ten works in total have been presented by the artist in the framework of a discussion forum on issues related to the present of Afro-descendant peoples in Honduras. The support to this exhibition is part of the research and linkage activities that have been developed since 2022 around the plastic work of the artist Bermudez, being this exhibition the third to be held in different spaces and forming different alliances that have made them possible. These artworks honor their subjects and this writing honors those who have made them pos-sible, both the artist and the organizations that participated in the coordination and final assembly of the exhibition, which is not easy and is not part of our daily practices as a society, even though art and especially the art born from the Afro-descendant people should be recognized and be part of academic studies that allow to create its space in the history of Honduran and universal art.
