Abstract

In the communities of Chacraseca, as in other rural communities in the country, we assume that there is a social and economic dynamic that involves people dedicated to domestic activities and agriculture. In 2009, a reflection process began with people who are dedicated to domestic activities, most of whom are women. This process was carried out with more than 100 rural women who identified as a strategic difficulty the few sources that generate economic income to cover basic needs in families, limited by their activities oriented towards housework, which are not paid and little recognized. , also because some who work in agricultural activities perform a secondary role as support for their husbands. Accompanied by a facilitator, the women in the process analyzed the causes of the difficulty, once all the causes had been discussed, they devised different alternative solutions, which, analyzed in terms of feasibility, became proposals. The reflection process was continuous due to the relativity with which women identify and decide to face their economic situation. This made it possible for year after year to emerge alternatives aimed at improving and strengthening of initiatives that they were already carrying out, investing in a new business, obtaining technical and practical training to start a new business or one of these undertakings. Those that initially agreed by subgroups were the production and sale of sewing, beauty, confectionery and food products, breeding, reproduction and marketing of farmyard animals or orchards.
