Strategic Plan, Multi-criteria analysisAbstract
The design of a strategic plan for the productive development of the red bean category was carried out, projecting its implementation for five years (2015-2019). The design of the strategic plan was based on the diagnosis of the bean crop, including an analysis multi-criteria suitability under a geographic information systems (GIS) environment, generating three sub-models of aptitude (biophysical, environmental and socioeconomic) which were integrated to generate a final model of crop aptitude, reflecting that 22.76% of the municipality is optimal for cultivation, 47.33% of acceptable aptitude and 29.92% of aptitude marginal. The strategic plan is a five-year roadmap to strengthen the productive capacities of farmers through five strategies with their respective actions: organization of the local red bean seed system, strengthening skills and education, strengthen productive capacity through agroecological production for a sustainable production adapted to climate change, strengthen marketing processes through a unit of marketing and production support policies and inter-institutional coordination for the development of bean cultivation. 77.9% of bean producers in the municipality of San Pedro consider their main production problem to be climatic factors mainly drought. The multi-criteria evaluation provides sufficient reliability to make decisions and support for territorial planning in precision agriculture.Downloads
