Prolonged zika virus viremia in the first trimester of pregnancy

The Zika entered El Salvador in 2015, affecting the population because of the conditions for their permanence, in El Salvador priority was given to the care of pregnant women and the follow-up of their deliveries.
A case of a 24-year-old primiparous woman with Zika virus infection is presented by clinic and verified by RT-PCR in week 8 of gestation and viremia was present until week 12 of gestation.
Laboratory tests were performed for prenatal follow-up and hospital delivery care.
She gave birth to a feminine product without malformations despite the viremia detected. The case is reported due to the favorable outcome.
