This research analyzes cultural heritage and its implementation as a teaching tool in in-service teacher training. Cultural heritage is addressed in the development of content by teachers in service in a pedagogical way. On the other hand, it is proposed through the execution of training courses that have started from the project methodology, focusing on specific aspects of the culture of Paraguay. The actions carried out in the theoretical and practical modules correspond to education professionals in service of the different levels of the Paraguayan educational system. That said, the problem of this research lies in the lack of cultural heritage training for inservice teachers, both core and optional in the Paraguayan context. Two studies are presented: the first compares cultural heritage projects selecting countries from Europe and Latin America, as well as absences of cultural heritage and heritage education models. The second describes teaching tools for application in the classroom in the different subjects of the study programs. The methodology is carried out through qualitative and interpretive tradition. The results indicate significant differences between European and Latin American countries: on the one hand, innovation in the use of cultural heritage in Europe with proposals for in-service teacher training; on the other hand, permanent training in institutions such as museums. These proposals are tailored to the needs of in-service teachers. However, in the Latin American context, the proposals are still under construction for
their implementation in the classroom.
