Abstract

In this work, the authors discuss on how the Latin American University is situated in the midst of the Eurocentered modernity. In the context, the authors make a criticism to modernity as it is the base of the world/system, and also to the university as an institution that neutralizes modern proposal elaborated as a result of the hegemony of Europe/North America in the manners of producing knowledge and subjectivities. There are brought to discussion some situations that face the Latin American university with the modernity that exacerbates the marketing logic like never before in the history, and also some approximations regarding some decolonial proposals made in order to think about alternatives to the issues that the authors present.
