Abstract

In this paper a comparative analysis of working hours, and the concept of work and workers in the domestic sector in the Central American region is made, taking as its starting point the International Labour Organization conventions related both to domestic work and the working days. This document will reveal the multiple labor violations to which people from the domestic sector are subjected in Central America, mainly as regards to their right to a fair and reasonable working time. This essay gives evidence of the unconstitutional regulation that some countries in the region apply to the working time in the domestic sector, at the same time, it makes recommendations to overcome this situation by proposing to States the ratification of OIT conventions that promote fair and reasonable working days for this sector, from a human rights approach
