Abstract

The Nicaraguan Academy of Sciences, with this opportunity, gives me the opportunity to reflect on what has been my work with the indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples of Nicaragua over the past 24 years; but not only does it serve as an opportunity to think about the contribution made in the development of national and international law and jurisprudence in this area, but it also serves as an opportunity to reflect on what this has meant to me, as a person: since one cannot separate one from the other.
