Academic success in the university. Case study: Agro-Industrial engineering of the northern regional headquarters, Nicaragua

In order to identify the aspects that affect the academic performance of the university students, interviews, focus groups for students and teachers of the Agroindustrial Engineering career at the UNI North regional headquarters in 2016 and 2017 were applied. The students expressed that the academic success was related to the discipline, their study habits, the professional motivation and the support provided by their family. Teachers highlighted as important qualities that successful students have, such as: appropriate study habits, open mind, want to learn, be self-taught, be supportive, participate in extracurricular activities, be disciplined and also responsible.
