This critical review essay analyzes the impact of knowledge management on the sustainability of the beekeeping sector in Nicaragua. The review of experiences and studies shows that the creation, transfer, and adaptation of knowledge have strengthened the technical, organizational, and territorial capacities of beekeepers, enabling improved hive management, diversification of product processing, and consolidation of collective innovation processes. Furthermore, it is found that participatory governance and collaborative networks facilitate the circulation of knowledge and strengthen resilience in adverse contexts. However, challenges persist, such as the limited use of digital tools and insufficient investment in research, which compromise long-term sustainability. It is concluded that knowledge management is a strategic and transversal axis for the sector, provided it is integrated with innovation and institutionalization processes.
