Communication for Development at UNAN-Managua: truths at the service of the people

This scientific essay analyzes the work of the Communication for Development program offered by the Universidad Autónoma de Nicaragua, Managua (UNAN-Managua), a field that promotes the dissemination of truths in the service of the people through the Communication and Citizenship Council of the Good Sandinista Government. The objective of this study is to examine how students and graduates of this discipline contribute to the construction of a genuine and participatory narrative, that reinforces national identity, and promotes sovereignty, peace, and the dignity of the Nicaraguan people. Through an analysis based on academic citations, institutional documents, and journalistic reports, the fundamental role of communication is highlighted, guided by a model that supports collective interests and combats disinformation. This study reflects on the sector´s role in generating relevant and alternative content that responds to the needs of a country in constant transformation, putting into practice the values and principles of the revolutionary process.
