Abstract

The text «Participatory methodologies: theory and social practice» reflects on the importance of participatory methodologies as a strategy of knowledge dialogue between theory and social practice and to generate a balance point in the collective construction of knowledge and the full participation of Local
actors in the development of competencies for life and local development with identity.

The text presents specifically the author›s experience during 11 years with the application of participatory methodologies, the text hopes to be a reference of motivation for the incorporation of participatory methodologies in the planning, training, research and formal education processes, not formal and informal and in this way generate strategies that encourage the participation of all local actors in the organizational processes and local development, only then it will be possible to develop local solutions to global phenomena.
