Abstract

The ethnographic approach proposed in this article is placed within the participatory framework of community agents in the research process, establishing relationships of reciprocal cultural approach between the researcher and the community. The techniques that allowed the approach were denominated representative, which were presented as the compensatory advantage of the limited time of the statistics in the context and compare the product data of the interviews and the observations. The representative techniques were developed in a multigrade school with children between 8 and 14 years in Potosí, a fishing community Potosí in Punta Cosigüina, Chinandega. The results of this activity ceased to arise some important issues: family roles, family economy, uses of space, environment and social problems. In this way it is possible to understand the context, from the perspective of its protagonists.
