This article addresses the economic contribution and social impact that the San Jose Oil Company offers in El Rama - Autonomous Region of the South Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. Its main purpose is to determine the contribution in the social and economic aspects that this company makes to the municipality, and the way in which it contributes to the formulation and implementation of actions in favor of sustainable local development. For this, a positivist paradigm was used, with a mixed approach and a level of explanatory depth. Participant observation and the survey were used as research instruments; the internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) that the latter instrument obtained was 0.922. It is concluded that the degree of satisfaction when working at the San Jose Company is very good; that is, the collaborators are mostly happy with what the company has done for their family finances and social projects. Various social programs for the community and positive impact on employees were found, specifying their award policies for their work in the company. The establishment offers human, technical or financial support to help the least favored groups in society. There is an internal policy to support collaborators, and these are found in the official documents of the Oil Company, but it is required that the Company divulge to its collaborators the contributions it makes in social and economic matters in Rama, for this, they must allocate time in meetings or general assemblies to report on the company's work.
