Student satisfaction studies are fundamental in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as they guide continuous improvement processes and are a requirement of evaluation and accreditation bodies in Nicaragua. This study aimed to evaluate the level of satisfaction among students of the of Education at the URACCAN Las Minas Regional University Center (Siuna) during the second semester of 2024. A quantitative approach with a correlational scope was used, applying analysis of variance and correlation tests to compare levels of satisfaction with learning environments according to major and gender, as well as their relationship with the retention rate. The stratified probability sample consisted of 113 students randomly selected from a population of 158. Data were collected through a Likert scale survey and a focus group. The results showed a generally low level of satisfaction (mean 3.74; standard deviation 0.43). The dimensions with the highest ratings were the work of the teaching staff (mean 4.29) and the services of the university cashier's office (mean 4.03). Statistically significant differences were identified according to the degree program (p = 0.02), with students in the Social Sciences Teacher Training program being the most satisfied; no differences were found by gender (p = 0.24). Furthermore, a negative linear correlation was found between satisfaction and the retention rate, indicating that student retention does not depend directly on the level of satisfaction. The results highlight the need to strengthen the institutional, pedagogical, and infrastructural conditions that promote educational quality and overall student satisfaction.
