Focus and Scope

Editorial line

The Realidad Empresarial journal is a means of digital communication between professionals and the university in the field of business administration, marketing, auditing, finance and business legislation, in order to raise awareness of issues related to economic, social and environmental issues of the country from a business perspective reflecting the new trends in the management of business in such a way that it contributes to the critical analysis of the national reality.

It is also an instance of reflection, research and opinion on the way of doing business that presents an objective analysis of the national business-like reality, without political or religious tendencies, using a simple, non-confrontational style that seeks to provide solutions, new ideas (innovation) and best practices.

Opinions and articles must be unpublished or have not been previously published and respect copyright; they can be developed by professionals from the business world and / or university professors interested in research and the generation of contributions based on real experiences.

This is an academic project, independent and autonomous, not associated with any government agency, or business outside the journal, does not pursue any personal interest since it is a journal of two academic departments within the university campus.

The Mentality of the journal is aligned with the mission of the UCA: "The UCA is a university of Christian and martyr inspiration, at the service of the Salvadoran and Central American people, to promote university social transformation, through research, teaching and the social projection.

The UCA forms competent people committed to social justice; contributes to the creation of new modes of human behavior and social coexistence based on justice and solidarity with the poor, the defense of human rights and the common good; and promotes responsible research and innovation. " In the sense of having a commitment to social change from a critical analysis of reality and through the production and dissemination of knowledge that helps professional learning and becomes a support for new generations.

Target group of the Journal

  • Professionals and academics who work in the area of Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and who are interested in updating themselves on issues related to their work performance.
  • People interested in updating their knowledge in the field of business assiduous reading of business and opinion journals.
  • Post-graduate students in areas related to Business Administration.
  • University students of 4 and 5 years of the careers of Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance and related careers and wishing to expand their knowledge on topics related to their career

Periodicity of the Journal
Semester edition (twice a year).

Content of the journal
In order to meet the proposed objectives of offering a journal that reflects academic and opinion articles that address, from a business perspective, issues related to economic, social and environmental issues, the following structure is proposed for the journal that consists of 5 sections.

The editorial board will define the theme of each publication of the journal and approve, together with the suggestions of the research commission, those articles that are in accordance with the editorial line and that are important for its publication for the departments.

The sections that comprise the structure are the following:

Editorial: The objective of the editorial is to give an introduction to the reader on the central topic, through a critical analysis of reality and using a simple and motivating language that invites the reader to continue exploring the journal

Trends: This section contemplates related articles focused on new trends in the area of business.

Analysis: This section will present articles that contain research results from theses or research projects that the editorial board deems convenient to publish

Business life: This section will address real cases of national companies that are of interest and that can be taken as case studies or good practices. They can be contributed by professors or by people from the business world.

Opinions: In this section, free-topic articles or interviews with personalities from the business world will be presented in order to obtain opinions about the work of national entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs in the business world.

Campus: This section is intended to present seminars, lectures, conferences, congresses or diplomas that will be carried out by the departments and that are related to the business world.

Peer Review Process

Selection process and approval of articles

  1. The authors send the proposal of articles via email to the corresponding address.
  2. The received texts will be submitted to an evaluation process by the editorial board. All the texts sent will be received, without implying the obligatory nature of their publication or return of the material sent.
  3. The selection of the articles that will be proposed for analysis by the technical review committee will be at the discretion of the editorial board.
  4. The guidelines for the review of the articles will be double blind. The name of the writer will not know the person in charge of the technical review or vice versa.
  5. The issued opinion will be delivered in writing via email under the following criteria (1) Approved, (2) Approved conditioned and (3) Outside the editorial guidelines.
  6. The writer will receive an email with the corresponding opinion. If a notice of "approved but with observations" is received, these must be corrected in a time no longer than 8 working days after receiving the notification, after this time, if the corrections are not received, the article will be rejected, and may be proposed. Second time in the next call up to a maximum of 3 calls.
  7. If a statement of "Outside editorial guidelines" is received, the journal reserves the right to place the justification of said opinion.
  8. When the article is approved for publication, the writer will be notified by e-mail indicating the date and volume of publication.

Publication Frequency

Realidad Empresarial is a biannual publication and published in the months of April and October (twice a year).

This journal provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle that offering the public free access to research helps in a greater global exchange of knowledge.
