State of the Art in Process Management as a Foundation for Integrating ISO Systems: Gaps and a Methodological Proposal
Keywords:
Process management, Management systems integration, Process documentation, Continuous improvementAbstract
This research analyzed the role of process management as a foundation for integrating ISO management systems (9001, 14001, and 45001), which represent 90% of certifications worldwide. Using a qualitative and documentary approach, existing literature at global and organizational levels was reviewed, identifying gaps that hinder operational integration beyond the documentary level. Based on the analysis, a structured methodology grounded in cross-functional process management was proposed to advance toward strategic, tactical, and operational integration. The study did not include data collection or field validation; its contribution focused on the conceptual and methodological systematization for future applications in organizational contexts.
