Abstract

Creating and managing a company in harmony with the environment is challenging in the business contexts of the 21st century. This article presents the case study of the Eco-Hotel Tree of Fire in El Salvador, Central America. The case raises the operations of the hotel focused on the implementation of mechanisms that seek energy efficiency as a transversal axis. On the other hand, the management of the family business, the challenges and challenges that have led to an organization immersed in a business fabric dominated by the masculine gender was studied. In addition, the way in which this family business has faced different global economic crises and the conditions of social violence caused by economic inequalities imposed by dominant power structures was analyzed.
