Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic crisis motivated a change in educational modality, which made teachers learn and apply new technologies, as well as adapt existing methodologies to continue the teaching-learning process, this implied a manifest change in aptitude and attitude to adapt to the new reality. This is how the research sought to identify the new methodological competencies acquired by higher education teachers in the city of Santa Ana. This study had a prospective descriptive scope, with a qualitative approach and cross-sectional design. Identifying that all teachers knew about technological resources since before the pandemic and that as a consequence an increase in interest and the need to expand their knowledge related to Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) was noted. Traditional and active methodologies continued to be used in virtual environments, based on the characteristics and nature of the subject. This is how the Higher Education Institutions (IES) of the city of Santa Ana adapted to the antagonistic circumstance that arose, to be at the forefront of educational processes.
