Evaluation of burnout syndrome in health care professionals

The syndrome of professional attrition (SDP) or Burnout Syndrome (DB) is a chronic adaptive disorder associated with the inadequate confrontation of the psychological demands of the work that alters the quality of life of the person. Burnout syndrome is a psychological response to chronic work stress that involves three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and loss of personal achievement or fulfillment, all of which refer to the relationship between the individual and the work environment. The aim of this work was to estimate the prevalence and associated factors of Burnout syndrome in health personnel working at the National Hospital of La Union, El Salvador. The study was cross-sectional with descriptive scope and quantitative approach, the instrument used was Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). For this work, the previous informed consent of each of the participants was used, respecting the right to confidentiality. This work involved 93 health professionals; young adults, where 75% of the population were women.
