Abstract

Salvadoran history in several major characters are remembered, but only one Indian has been able to remain in tradition, historical studies and the identity of an entire region. Currently Anastacio Aquino and movement are led example of struggle and social demands.

This study aims to shed light on some unknown aspects of the movement of Aquino and the time in which he lived. The events of his life are marked by tradition and not by historical research with primary sources, this article proposes to partly solve the shortfall. Along with that intention, it also seeks to put Aquino in its historical context, from being a member Indian from his nonualca community to become a Salvadoran citizen trying to protect his community, which is what he knows, and not the State Salvadorian training is in turn subordinate to the Central federal state.
