Abstract

Since the first and only record by Salvin in 1866, the Canvasback Duck, Aythya valisineria (Wilson) was not recorded from Guatemala. Based on observations and photographic records obtained in 2014, we report two adult females of this species in Lake Amatitlán in central Guatemala.
