Abstract

Accords of January 16, 1992 in El Salvador, is one of the most important events in the recent history of El Salvador, in terms of political-electoral stability and the delineation of the principle of division of powers. A historical fact whose main objective was clear: to end the armed conflict through political negotiation. But it was not the only one, because, from there, it was intended to promote the democratization of the country and guarantee the unrestricted respect of human rights to finally reunify the Salvadoran society.
