University teachers are faced with the transition of teaching focused on a paradigm whose object of study is divided and individual to mobilize towards conceptions that pose a holistic sense in the vision of health. The implications of these transformations for work of teaching are analyzed in this research that was delimited to the training of dental professionals in the context of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH) in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Special attention was given to how the axis of the social dimension is taught from the contrast of the current biologicist paradigm in dentistry teaching and the proposal of a more integrative view of the health disease process identified in the Primary Health Care Model.
