Abstract

In the midst of an exceptional situation, issue 43 of the Paradigm-Journal of Educational Research comes to light. It is a health crisis that the world has not experienced for 100 years and the worst economic, social and political scenario that our generation has ever known. Now more than ever, the enormous social debt that the neoliberal economic model has accumulated in forty years of apogee is evident, and the unequivocal signs of a world divided by inequality in the distribution of resources and knowledge are shown. We can only regret that the promises of scientific modernity have not been fulfilled, the order, in many contexts, continues to be interpreted from the authoritarian political conceptions of some and well-being is a privilege of few. We have already verified that science does not have all the answers, it is more what is ignored than what it knows about COVID-19, but at the same time the hope of surviving as a species is based on achieving a vaccine that controls a silent enemy that it is here to stay.
