The lack of relevance given to the research function in society and in the universities of the South, the weakness of the national systems of science and technology and the lack of disciplinary and methodological capabilities, coupled with the lack of equipment and qualified infrastructure to Research in higher education institutions are elements that influence the maintenance of the north-south gap in scientific research. In this article, some concrete elements are reported that, in the case of Honduras and the UNAH, favor this gap or hinder its reduction; At the same time, we describe some particularities concerning the development of collaborative research projects in the North-South context and make notes that could contribute to the construction of public policies that enhance scientific production as a key factor of development and facilitate the work of academic research managers at the higher education level.Downloads
