Abstract

The general objective of the article was to analyze the global trends in which agribusiness is developing, as well as to show some instruments that can be used to measure both strong and weak sustainability for the sake of sustainable development as a transversal axis of Agenda 2030 such as the Millennium Development Goals. The methodology was qualitative, and the method was of documentary review. The main conclusion is that agribusiness as time passes has greater relevance in the development of societies given its direct relationship with the obtaining of calories by human and non-human animals. Noting that the three trends in which it operates are Bioeconomy, Biotechnology, and Agroindustry 4.0.
