Abstract

The present work was carried out in the Academic Division of Biological Sciences of the UJAT, with the purpose of registering the environmental services that the macuilíz generates. This species is of great ecological, economic and cultural importance. This study allowed to know the goods and services that this species provides within the Division. To do this, it was proposed to identify and evaluate the ecosystem services provided by this species in the DACBiol-UJAT, during the year 2017. The work was divided into three parts: First, bibliographical review, second, field work; divided into 7 stages; 1) census, 2) pre-sampling, 3) marking, 4) measurement, 5) monitoring, 6) environmental services and 7) reproductive stages; and third cabinet work. The goods and services registered were: food, regulation of temperature, pollination, nesting, nesting, habitat, shelter, perch, rest, generation of organic matter, shade and scenic beauty. There were four taxonomic groups of fauna that make use of the goods generated by this species: birds, insects, mammals and reptiles; the groups that registered the greatest wealth were the birds followed by the group of insects. A monthly temperature ranging from 28.6 to 34.7 ° C was registered and in shade it reduces the temperature from 26 to 30 ° C. The ecosystem services provided by Tabebuia rosea were recorded in the study area; These services were divided into four categories: provision, regulation, support and cultural services. In addition, they benefit the biological diversity that sustains, protects and lives in the ecological niche provided by this species.
