Efecto covid-19 y la percepción de supervivencia empresarial (Caso pequeña y mediana empresa del occidente de Honduras)

Small and medium-sized companies are the main rotor that drives the economic dynamics of Honduras, due to its great capacity for jobs supply. In the second quarter of 2020, these organizations have faced a current unprecedented contingency, which has left many lessons and evidences of vulnerability, this highlight that a very small number of these entities survive in a very complex situational framework, characterized by big and unimaginable unfavorable effects and to the detriment of business survival. A priori it is known that, in general, the environmental conditions are very precarious for the operation and sustainability of companies in Western Honduras, more so with the scenario that developed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this has provocated that at least 42% of the companies that actually are closed, perceive and foresee that it will not be possible to reopen, since their business type is more conditioned by the restrictions that stemmed from the health crisis, besides there is a 74% of the businessmen, consider that this situation will trigger a recession that will increase the transition from wage earners class to the poor class, and from the poor to a higher percentage of citizens to extreme poverty.
