Development of digital skills: a critical factor in the training of university teachers

The aim of this paper is to examine digital competencies in Honduran university teachers, based on the proposed competencies of the National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training, Spain. it is based on five variables that the lecturers must have in the digital field. The methodology is non-experimental, descriptive type, using qualitative and quantitative data, applied to university teachers in Honduras, through a digital survey of a validated instrument of the document “Validation of construction of an instrument to measure the digital competence of teachers”, published in the spanish journal of pedagogy. The analysis concluded that most university teachers, despite their generational diversity, have digital skills, criteria for the choice of information and storage of information. Similarly, the instrument correlated the questions in the instrument and thus validated the information obtained.
