The development of technology has allowed a large amount of information to be placed on the Internet, popularizing search engines that help the user to detect relevant information and gain access to scientific knowledge. For this reason, it is important to make visible the information that -as an educational institution- must communicate. The reports of the Web Ranking of Universities (Webometrics) for the period 2018-2021 were studied, referring to the positioning achieved by Honduran universities whose research activities were previously classified by the Scimago Institutions Ranking (SIR) for Latin America. The indicators that measure the number of external links received (visibility indicator), the number of visits to the website (popularity indicator) and the Metadata, which include content indicators and metrics, are analyzed on university websites. The quantitative approach and the documentary analysis technique are used. The results show the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH), Escuela Agrícola Panamericana (EAP) y Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC)in the first three positions. Actions are suggested that would allow a positive impact on the indicators used by this rating agency.
