The importance of a high school PPS process in dance

Abstract

The formulation starts from a process of conscious search, of finding new routes for teaching dance and is linked to other similar disciplines or absolutely different. According to P. Jiménez and P. Umaña (2017) Skills for life, it is a space where the self-esteem of boys and girls is worked on, tools are implemented to improve their academic performance, concentration, new skills and paths to find success in their school activities. The project is part of the services of the Santo Domingo de Heredia clinic, Costa Rica, developed by the Psychology service. Accompaniment is provided from dance to project, coordinating the process through the project of the National University of Costa Rica, Connections for Creativity (project of the UNA School of Performing Arts). The project is worked with a support group for boys and girls with attention deficit, victims of bullying, mistreatment psychological, possibly physical, asperger, among others. They all belong to the health center of Santo Domingo de Heredia, Costa Rica, where they provide psychological support and my responsibility as personal part of the project, open a space to implement the work of Dance as tool to cover some elements, which with the psychological support due to its characteristics sometimes it is more difficult to tackle.
