Abstract

Sialolithiasis is an obstructive pathology of the salivary glands that is characterized by formation of stones inside the parenchyma or glandular ductal system. (Cindy Campos Villanueva, Jorge Téllez Rodriguez, Rubí lópez Fernández, 2014, p. 394) In some cases the Obstruction promotes infectious signs and symptoms (sialoadenitis). The diagnosis of sialolithiasis is performed through a physical examination and imaging tests, such as an x-ray or CT scan computerized (CT). Once the diagnosis is confirmed, treatment will depend on the size and location of the stones, as well as the state of the affected salivary gland. The treatment can include manual stone removal, surgical removal or lithotripsy. In this report presents a case of sialolithiasis in the sublingual gland in the Bartholin duct in which it usually It would be unusual for this pathology to occur.
