Abstract

Tribute to such a renowned Honduran woman of science, she was part of the Governing Council of UNESCO IESALC, advocating for issues of inclusion, recognition of studies, virtual education, teacher training and educational reforms. She was a teacher and highest authority at UNAH and is in honor of such a distinguished lady determined that recognition be given by naming the year 2024 for her academic activities as “Rutilia Calderón Padilla” highlighting her valuable contributions to the alma mater.

Author Biography

Rutilia Calderón Padilla, Doctor of Medicine, Highest Authority of the UNAH, Teacher and Researcher

Honduran citizen. Medical graduate from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), Epidemiologist graduated from the National School of Public Health in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Graduated from the Doctorate in Social Sciences with a focus on Management of Sustainable Human Development. Retired Full Professor from UNAH (36 years). Former Rector ai and Former Academic Vice Rector of UNAH. Former Minister of Education of Honduras. Former International Advisor to the WHO/PAHO in Venezuela and the Netherlands Antilles. Currently member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Higher Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC/UNESCO) and of the Board of Directors of the National Commission of Non-Formal Education of Honduras (CONEANFO). Research, Publications and National and International Conferences in the areas of Higher Education, University and Educational Systems Reforms, Health Reforms; Teacher Training, Ethics and Citizenship, Educational Research, Distance Education and Inclusive Education.
