The article highlights the significance of establishing specific policies and measures aimed at safeguarding and promoting the linguistic and cultural rights of Indigenous and Afro-Honduran communities. This involves guaranteeing their active and relevant participation in society, as well as the respect and preservation of their identity and cultural heritage by society and the institutions involved. These actions are fundamental to promoting inclusion and equity, as well as to protecting the cultural and linguistic diversity of Honduras. Additionally, the need for concrete actions to ensure that these communities have access to adequate resources to revitalize and preserve their languages and cultures is emphasized. This includes strengthening bilingual education, supporting community initiatives for cultural revitalization, and promoting the active participation of communities in decision-making that affects their lives. By promoting inclusion and equity, we contribute to building a more just and respectful society that values the cultural and linguistic diversity of Honduras.
