Contemporary architecture in Honduras has been shaped by international influences since the mid-20th century, however, unlike other Latin American countries such as Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, and Costa Rica, an architectural identity of its own has yet to be defined. The lack of documentation on contemporary Honduran architecture has generated a debate about the schools of thought that define it. This research focuses on the period from 2013 to 2017, with the aim of documenting the main architectural works built in the city of Tegucigalpa and its surroundings, recognizing outstanding architects in the field of contemporary Honduran architecture, and distinguishing new trends. An observational and descriptive methodology was used, using relevant projects and interviews with professionals to understand the evolution of contemporary architecture.
