Abstract

This study was based on the Collaborative Learning model for the realization of a collaborative academic writing activity. The objectives of this research were established in two ways, first, to determine the interference of collaborative work in the development and strengthening of communicative competencies in written expression. On the other hand, to identify the communicative and collaborative skills that are strengthened by implementing a collaborative writing activity based on collaborative learning. The activity was implemented in the Technical Writing course (2023) at the Escuela Agrícola Panamericana Zamorano, where, through work teams, the students made an academic summary based on a Drive application. It was determined that, in the collaborative writing task, collaborative work does have a positive influence, developing communicative competencies that directly strengthen the academic writing process. In the development of communicative skills, the following stood out: writing in accordance with academic and linguistic norms, improving grammar, coherence, cohesion and vocabulary expansion. In terms of collaborative skills, the following stood out: learning to plan and organize a team task, learning to listen to and respect the opinions of others. Thus, communicative and social skills are strengthened.
