Historical research has no expiration date, as there will always be some fact or historical event waiting to be discovered in the vastness of documents that stand as witnesses of the past. This paper takes a journey through the lives and deaths of four prominent Central American figures of the 19th century. Two Hondurans of great recognition in their country: General Francisco Morazán and José Cecilio del Valle. And two Guatemalans: Domingo Estrada and General Antonio José de Irisarri, both were ignored by their own people, especially Domingo Estrada. The paper is divided into three sections: the first addresses general data about the trajectory of the four characters and family information. The second refers to the most relevant events they developed, which served to be recognized, especially in their dimension as writers who left important literary works for posterity. The third focuses on their death, the honors paid by their people, as well as the memory through time and recognition of the four prominent figures.
