Abstract

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated virtual student mobility, offering opportunities to access education internationally, but also highlighting challenges such as the digital divide. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play a fundamental role in facilitating communication and collaboration between students and teachers. Objective: Analyze the opportunities and challenges for virtual student mobility in a post-pandemic world. Methodology: this work is a reflective academic essay. Results: The challenges and opportunities of virtual mobility include the need to train teachers in digital tools, improve technological infrastructure, and promote equity in access to education. Encouraging international collaboration and diversifying educational experiences are key aspects of preparing students for a globalized and digitalized world. Conclusions: Virtual mobility offers transformative potential in a post-pandemic world, but requires proactively addressing its challenges to optimize its benefits.
