Confucio Montes de Oca was a Honduran painter and writer, born and deceased in La Ceiba,
Atlántida Department (1896–1925). This year marks the centenary of his untimely death at the age of twenty-nine. Chronologically, he belonged to the generation of painters of the 1920s, which included Pablo Zelaya Sierra, Max Euceda, Carlos Zúñiga Figueroa, Horacio Reina, and the sculptor Samuel Salgado.
